NEWLY REBUILT SMW225 PRODUCTION DRILL IN ACTION
We have completed our 16th rig rebuild!
This latest project involved the rebuilding and engineering of a Terex Reedrill SKSS (SMW225). Work was performed at our Mt Thorley workshop which, being larger and better equipped, was specifically selected for its rig rebuild suitability.
SMW is highly experienced in rig rebuilds and engineering, manufacturing and installing modifications to improve rig performance. All modifications are designed to improve safety, reliability, capability, maintenance serviceability and operator ergonomics.
As part of the rebuild, upgrades were carried out to the chassis and mast along with hydraulic and electrical enhancements and an increased drill depth from 45m to 72m.
After a fresh coat of paint and full testing, the rig was quickly mobilised to its first job: production drilling at the Gregory mine for our long term client Sojitz.
